What’s Happening at the 2016 Games
Less Than a Week Left!
For those of you keeping track, we only have 3 days until the 104th Calgary Highland Games. That means that you need to start planning out your route! Here are the schedules for the main 3 areas of our event.
A General Overview of the Day

|9:oo am||Scots on the Run 1km & 5km Walk/Run|
|9:30 am||Scottish Highlanders Kicking Hunger Matches Begin|
|10:00 am||Festival Tent Opens|
|11:00 am||VIP Area Opens|
|1:oo pm||Opening Ceremonies|
|1:30 pm||Pipe Major Competition|
|2:00 pm||Pipe Band Competition Begins|
|5:00 pm||Closing Ceremonies|
|7:00 pm||Last Complimentary Bus Leaves Springbank Park|
Shuttles & Parking
Parking is NOT allowed along the road, so please use the following locations:
- Springbank Park for All Seasons
- Springbank Park Soccer Field
- Westlife Church
- Springbank Middle School
- Elbow Valley Elementary School
Buses will be continuously running between parking lots to pick up attendees and bringing them directly to Gate 2.
In addition we will have a bus that is running from the 69th street station directly to Gate 2 from 8am – 7pm.
For anyone whose watching highland dancing, all we can provide is an order of dance. Due to the number of competitors, the exact time of each dance cannot be determined.
Solo Piping & Drumming
Our piping and drumming competitors encompass every skill level from Grade V up to and including Professional. These competitions will run throughout the morning.
