Upcoming Scottish Events in 2015
March 21, 2015: The Canmore Highland Games invites you to their Celtic Ceilidh – a full evening of Celtic entertainment including Cabot’s Crossing, pipes & drums, Irish dancers, highland dancers and more. This is a fundraiser for their Games. Tickets are $25 per person and may be purchased at the Legion or online at their website. Doors open at 6:30 p.m.
March 22, 2015: St. Andrew Caledonian Society invites you to the North Hill Curling Club from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. The event is open to members, family and friends for a cost of $5 for the members and $15 for non-members (which includes an annual membership to the Society). April 4, 2015: Celebrate Tartan Day hosted by St. Andrew Caledonian Society at Murdoch’s Bar & Grill. There will be an organised schedule from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. including music from Glenmorin, dancing by the Scottish Country Dancing & Wilson School of Highland Dance plus much more. Hone up on your Scottish Trivia as there will be a team challenge. There will be no cover charge.
April 10, 2015: Enjoy an evening of Whisky sampling at the Whiskey Festival (part of Canmore Uncorked Food & Drink Festival) at the Stewart Creek Gold Course Clubhouse, from 7:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. This is co-presented by Tourism Canmore Kananaskis and the Three Sisters Scottish Festival Society. Tickets are $40 per person and are available online at Tourism Canmore.
May 29 – 21, 2015: The 2015 Robert Burns Association of North America Conference is to be held at the Carriage House Inn in Calgary this year. This is hosted by the Calgary Burns Club. To request a registration page, please contact the Calgary Burns Club.
August 15, 2015: Hold the date for the St. Andrew Caledonian Society annual golf outing. Stay tuned for more details. You do not have to know how to golf to participate nor do you need a team.
October 9 – 12, 2015: The St. Andrews Caledonian Society and RSCDS Calgary Branch invite you to the Calgary Scottish Cultural Gathering. It will be a weekend workshops, dancing, music and so much more. To learn more about the event or to register, visit the website. Unleash Your Inner Scot!
