Help Us on Our Centennial Medal Quest…
The Calgary Highland Games is celebrating their 100th anniversary on August 31st 2013! To celebrate this special occasion, we would like your help in designing a medal to commemorate our 100th Highland Games.
Criteria:
• The design must contain the wording “Calgary Highland Games” and either “1913 – 2013″ or “Centennial”
• The design must be in black and white – the medal will NOT be produced with colours.
• The finished design must be between 2 inches and 2.25 inches in diameter. The design can be any shape.
• The medal will be one sided
Submit your design/s by email to info@calgaryhighlandgames.com . Subject line should read “Medal Design 2013”.
Submissions will be received no earlier than September 15, 2012 and no later than December 15, 2012.
The design submissions will be reviewed by a committee of Calgary United Scottish Games Association (CUSGA) members. The winning design will be produced as the medal for the 2013 Calgary Highland Games.
The designer of the winning selection will be advised by e-mail.
The winning designer will receive a framed set of the 2013 medals at the Opening Ceremonies, and will be recognized in the 2013 souvenir program.
2011 Calgary Highland Games Highlight…
Rick Mercer and his crew were on the field the day of the games as he tried a variety of events. The caber toss was quite entertaining, especially when he used a chain saw to chop several feet off of an already shortened caber — he did have a perfect throw after that.
